About Flogas

Flogas entered the UK from Ireland in 1984 with the acquisition of Portagas in Merrylees, Leicester. Fast organic growth ensued and the filling plants of Leeds, Newport, Birtley and Glasgow followed. In 1995 the Rainham terminal was opened following the acquisition of City Mills Marine. Again a period of aggressive organic growth followed.

A DCC company

In the early '90s DCC increased their shareholding in Flogas from 30% to outright ownership. DCC are a support services group, focused on sales, marketing and distribution in the energy; healthcare; IT and food markets, operating principally in Britain and Ireland. Flogas are the largest company within the Energy division of DCC, which in turn is the largest division within DCC.
