An Exceptional Award for Bob Gardiner

At Flogas we recognise that our people are the key to our success. One of our most important challenges is to continue to attract and develop the employees we need to achieve our ambitious plans.
We believe we have exceptional people. It is therefore particularly satisfying when a major blue chip customer singles out a member of our staff as being exceptional.

In this case the customer is Scottish Courage Breweries and the employee Bob Gardiner. Bob has been with Flogas since our entry into the UK in 1984, following the acquisition of Portagas. In fact, Bob’s employee reference number at Flogas is number one. Everyone that has worked with Bob have great respect and affection for him. His continued commitment and enthusiasm for the company and the job is refreshing and contagious.
The following testimonial and award will not surprise those of you who know Bob. He is indeed an exceptional individual on both a professional and personal level.

Annette Dearie, Supplier Manager – Utilities at Scottish Courage Breweries said “Bob Gardiner has been our Account Manager since the acquisition of Courage. He has latterly semi-retired, but has retained our account due to his unquestionable personal commitment to ensuring that the excellent service to our business is maintained at a time when changes within our respective businesses might result in potential problems.
He regularly communicates with key company contacts to appraise them of ongoing developments and makes numerous site visits (proactively) to ensure service provision is as required. This includes all our distribution depots (as well as the breweries), the length and breadth of the country.

Annette continues, “An example of this proactive assistance was the response provided to those depots affected during last year's floods. Bob has provided significant input during the ongoing supply chain reorganisation, arranging for the removal, relocation and provision of new propane installations. His knowledge and experience has been invaluable in ensuring this aspect of the project was carried out effectively, safely and to programme. He proactively took ownership of problems and was known to have redesigned installations to suit changing site requirements by the time site progress meetings had finished!

This award would be a very fitting way to recognise his excellent contribution to our company over many years.”
