LPGas is the most diverse energy option in rural areas
Rural property owners have a number of options open to them and the choice of alternative fuel is an important one. While LPG and heating oil are popular options, there are also Electricity companies and Solid fuel vying for business.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) currently accounts for just 1.5% of the UK’s energy consumption, yet it offers a fuller range of options including gas central heating, living flame fires, gas hobs and cookers to water heaters and cooling equipment.
In terms of cost, installation is pretty painless. It generally costs less than half as much as oil installation - a claim recently rejected by the oil industry but upheld by the Advertising Standards Agency.
Running costs for all fuels are notoriously difficult to calculate. LPG is perceived to be one of the more expensive rural fuels, yet research suggests prices may not be that high, particularly when you take into account comparative hikes in oil fuel prices.
LPG costs are in fact more than maintainable, especially when low installation costs are taken into account. Running costs may be higher than those of oil but after set-up costs are included, it would take almost a decade before oil users saw any financial advantage.
LPG's versatility makes it a real all-rounder, so whether it's cooking, heating, boiling or even garden lighting - LPGas can do it all.
