Oil Related Diversification

Flogas UK strengthens its oil fuels division in England and Wales.

In keeping with the DCC energy division's objective to achieve a significant position in the markets we are involved in, Flogas UK has a strategy to grow an oil fuels division in England and Wales.

This began in 2001 with the acquisition of a successful family-owned fuels distributor in the Middlesbrough area, Noble Fuels, an authorised branded distributor for Petroplus, who supply us directly from their nearby refinery on Teeside. DCC have a successful oil business in Scotland trading as Scottish Fuels and in Ireland with EMO Oil.

DCC have a successful oil business in Scotland trading as Scottish Fuels in Ireland with EMO Oil and have recently acquired Shell Direct business in the UK.

EVES Fuels were acquired on 1st April 2004 and Evetts Fuels has been purchased in April 2005. This means we now have a comprehensive presence in the North East.

We have also acquired WH Bowe of Tunstall, Richmond in North Yorkshire, who are strong in the supply of oil fuel, and agricultural and domestic heating.

The oil product range spans the middle distillates of oil supply (kerosene, gas oil, derv and petrol) together with storage tanks and a range of oil lubricant. Services include planned, automated deliveries, budget payment schemes, arranging for boiler maintenance and tank installations.

Extensive Coverage

In the oil market, DCC supplies heating oils, transport fuels and fuel oils to domestic, commercial, and agricultural customers. Oil is sold principally under the Emo and Scottish Fuels brands. DCC is the leading oil distributor in Northern Ireland and Scotland and a leading independent oil distributor in the Republic of Ireland.

In September 2001 DCC acquired BP's oil marketing and distribution business in Scotland and Northern England. This acquisition gave DCC a market leadership position in Scotland under the Scottish Fuels brand.

In September 2004 DCC acquired the trade, assets and goodwill of the business of Shell Direct UK extending DCC's reach throughout Britain in the fragmented oil sales and marketing business which now trades under the Emo Oil brand.
