We’re expanding our fleet
Our new 16t DAF LF260 installation vehicles have just rolled off the production line, as we continue to expand our fleet.
The newly designed Flogas Crane vehicles have been engineered from the ground up with the support of Massey Truck Engineering with the vehicles supplied by Ford and Slater. The crane is supplied by HiAb and has a 12.7m reach with full radio remote control.
The vehicles are designed for the installation of LPG storage vessels for our Domestic & Commercial customers, to ensure we’re providing a safe and efficient installation of equipment for both new and existing customers. They’re also able to exchange vessels at customers premises utilising the vapour compressor built into the design which allows for the transfer of product from the outgoing vessel into the newly installed vessel.
The vehicles can also be utilised in the event of an emergency to remove the LPG contents so the Flogas Engineering Team can exchange the faulty or damaged valve then transfer the product back into the vessel.
The vehicles mark the start of a new partnership with Massey Truck Engineering who have worked with us to incorporate many innovative new safety and driver convenience features into the design. This was done in conjunction with a number of our drivers who had the opportunity to input into the vehicle design, providing front-line knowledge and experience that has been invaluable to the design team.
Jason Bothamley, one of our crane drivers involved in the design shared “It was a pleasure to be involved in the process from concept through to the finished vehicle; they have turned out better than I could have ever expected and the additional equipment fitted to them makes a real difference to the safety of what we do”.
Our thanks go to all supply chain partners on this exciting project, but especially to Ian Roberts, Managing Director of Massey Truck Engineering and Dave Southall, Head of Installations and Maintenance for their collaboration and vision on this project.
