Cold weather ready? Let’s get your radiators working efficiently

Bleed your radiators in a few easy steps…

Watch the step-by-step video from our sister company, Certas Energy below.

  1. Turn Off Heating – Switch off your central heating and wait 30 minutes to let the system cool. Why: Prevents burns and stops hot water from escaping.
  2. Check for Cool Spots – Feel your radiators. If the top is cooler than the bottom, trapped air is the issue. Focus on these radiators.
  3. Open the Valve – Use your Flogas radiator key to slowly turn the valve anticlockwise. You’ll hear a hissing sound as air escapes. Be ready with a towel or container to catch any water.
  4. Close the Valve – Once water flows steadily, turn the valve clockwise to close it.
  5. Test the Heat – Turn your heating back on and check for even warmth from top to bottom.

Repeat for any remaining radiators as needed.

Properly bled radiators keep your heating system running efficiently and your home cozy!
