Hazelwood Holiday Park Keeps Guests Happy with Flogas Liquid Gas

Hazelwood Holiday Park is a popular spot on the coast of South Devon and offers a wide array of holiday lets, from stylish lodges to chalet apartments. The rural park is not connected to the mains gas grid, and for the past two decades has relied on liquid gas to ensure holiday goers always have the heating, hot water and cooking gas they need.

A central liquid gas supply  

A family-run business, Hazelwood Holiday Park is set within 38 acres of landscaped parkland and sits alongside the picturesque Devon coastline. The family-friendly holiday village is home to a host of different accommodation, including 120 luxury holiday lodges and 120 spacious chalets. The site also has its own clubhouse, fish & chip shop, outdoor heated swimming pool, convenience store, laundrette and main office.

In total there are 253 units on site, all of which rely on liquid gas to provide central heating, hot water and cooking gas – and have done for more than two decades. Liquid gas has always been the park’s preferred fuel choice, but it switched suppliers to Flogas in 2018 thanks to a more cost-effective supply and trusted customer support.

But as we grew in size and popularity, it made more sense for us to switch to a central bulk supply so we could run the park’s whole gas network centrally. We have our own network of piping and individual meters, so we can charge guests by their usage. It’s a great set up and works well for us and our visitors.”

Automatic Top Ups

Hazelwood Holiday Park has five above ground Flogas storage tanks on site. These all feature auto-ordering technology, which alerts Flogas when gas is running low and automatically arranges a top up delivery. This means the park and its guests never have to worry about placing orders. “Thanks to auto-ordering we don’t have to lift a finger, as the gas just arrives when we need it,” adds Patrick.
