Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH)

Putting Safety F1RST

Safety F1rst

At Flogas Britain, we put SAFETY F1RST. That means protecting everyone who works for us, and everyone who lives or works in our communities.

It’s unlikely that you’ll ever be affected by an emergency on our site — our strict safety procedures are regularly checked and tested to minimise any risk to you.

But we’re committed to responsible business practice, and to meeting our obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations 2015: Information to the Public.

That’s why, if you live or work near one of our Top Tier sites, in LLandarcy, Staveley or London we’ve sent you an Emergency Information Pack that tells you how to GO IN, STAY IN AND TUNE IN, if something goes wrong. The pack contains all the information you need.  We’ve also produced this short animation for you, which sums up what you should do if our public emergency siren sounds for more than one minute. We hope you’ll find it useful.

If you live or work near our Hallen site or within audible range of the Severnside Siren system, you will have received an advice booklet from them on what to do when the sirens operate. The Severnside Sirens warn you of possible incidents involving dangerous substances anywhere in the Severnside Area – this includes Avonmouth and the Redcliffe Bay area of Portishead, a copy of which is available here:

And finally, if you live or work near one of our other COMAH sites, you will find all the information you require on the HSE’s website where they publish information on all our sites subject to COMAH 2015, which you can access here:
