Frequently asked questions:

How does the ECO Scheme work?

As part of ECO, medium and larger energy suppliers fund the installation of energy-efficient measures in British households. This helps support the government initiative of tackling fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions.

The current scheme, ECO3, has one obligation to follow – the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) – which requires energy suppliers to promote the installation of measures that lead to financial savings on energy bills. Find out more here.
